Raised on the cold streets of Rochester, New York, growing up was never easy. His youth involved a lot of controversy, hatred and odds against him. When he turned 13 he sparked an interest in music and started to write music with other kids from the neighborhood. His vocal talent and witty lyrics quickly moved him into a bracket with the best artists of his age at the time.​

 

As he grew older his lyrics and his skill sharpened. With his older brother being incarcerated in the late 90's, he took on the responsibility of caring for his two younger brothers and himself, protecting them if they were ever in harms way. Throughout his childhood he was taunted due to his size, and fighting became a release for his anger. As years went on he learned to express his anger through his music. With the release of his first mixtape, Street Journal Vol 1, his name began to create a buzz in his city, and Davine quickly became targeted for battles and street beef.​

After the success of his first mixtape, explosive performances, and a few rap battles under his belt, Davine released his second mixtape, Street Journal Vol 2, in early 2012. The response was good locally, but he wanted more. Soon the young talent relocated to North Carolina to further pursue his dream. His last mixtape, The Proclamation, shows his versatility and continuous growth. Davine's ultimate goal was to reach the true fans of hip hop. He wanted to be able to have his voice heard by millions, not for money, but for respect from the legends and the art.

 

The Accident

 

On October 25th, 2013 at around 5:45 am in the morning on his way to work with his girlfriend, the car was hit by a 18 wheeler truck on the express way. He sustained massive injuries and was not able to survive. A lover of life, having a passion for music, confident, charismatic, mutlitalented and loved by lots of people he will always, always be missed.
